Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a frequent and essential way to boost the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can be a great source of additional damage and more AD or even more attachments.

In most cases, however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is beaten out by Rare-grade gear because of their requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be used on weapons and armor items. They boost the performance of the item they're attached to. Armor upgrades are available in the world of games and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at bonfires. They can also be salvaged by using a professional or higher salvage kits to retrieve upgrades from the items.

The amount of damage an armored item or weapon can absorb depends on the extent of its upgrades. The damage absorption of an item of armor will increase when it's upgraded to its maximum upgrade level. However, it's important be aware that this upgrade will increase its weight, which will cause it to weigh more than it was before.

There are many different kinds of armor upgrade available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. Certain upgrades grant armor a greater number of health points, while others make it stronger and lighter. The type of armor upgrade that an item will receive will be indicated by the name of the upgrade items as indicated in the table below.

Some upgrades are magical or a combination of magic and technology, which is shown by an "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Furthermore, some upgrades require a fee to use, and are identified by the "Charges" entry in the table below. These charges are continuously updated or never expire, depending on the upgrade.

The cheapest method of upgrading armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be gathered by exploring the environment and looting minor loot chests. Titanium is more costly, but is readily available in the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to armor pieces of the highest level. These upgrades can provide significant boost in stats, and are worth the investment.

Upgrading a piece of armor to the highest upgrade level will significantly increase its defense capabilities but the wearer must be aware that putting on weight will dramatically reduce its speed and agility. Therefore, it is generally not recommended to upgrade armor pieces beyond +9, because the increase in defense is usually not worth the weight and power cost of the improvements required.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of specific aspects of the weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle or the damage caused by shotgun shells. Some weapons also have special enhancements that enhance their intrinsic characteristics. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of weapon overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases projectile acceleration for more damage).

The majority of upgrades for weapons require a whetblade, one of three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. They can be gained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain number of bosses and monsters.

The process of upgrading a weapon, equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost of a certain number of Bars. The more bars needed to complete an upgrade, the more expensive the upgrade. The cost of upgrading will be lower if you have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and sets has changed. In the past you could search for an Upgrade Bench and pay a set amount of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to a higher quality. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would be reset.

You can still do this but the process is based on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off going to the stores and buying equipment with low upgrade levels but good base scores and stat distributions. These gears have a greater likelihood of granting you highest tier benefits and blessings.

To level up faster, most players will be more inclined to upgrade their weapons. In addition to these, players should consider upgrading the weapons that are most popular with their teammates to increase their power and effective. Shepard, for example, should upgrade the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will increase the effectiveness of the weapon when used in conjunction by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are used in the armor's sockets and weapons, enhancing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. They can be made through the process of jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gem with a number of specific ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the level of the gemstone, the better the secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or by collecting Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Prisms and gold.

The Jeweler can improve the quality of the gem in stages that range from Crude up to Royal. Depending on the tier of the jewel, it will provide a different stat boosts when it is inserted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.

All tiers of jewels can be made at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels which require you to be at a high enough level to be able to get them. Like other upgrade components jewels can be swapped by a different jewel of the same kind without damaging the original one. However, you can only replace the jewels in a piece of equipment once.

It is normal to use more jewels for aesthetic reasons. Apart from improving performance, the diamonds create an outer layer that is more durable than steel, so the repeated friction from pivots doesn't damage them as easily.

In addition to the upgrades mentioned above players can also obtain glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These are a small perk and can be swapped freely, but are not guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler to exchange Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be removed from the inventory, and they are returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits and aegis, aren't swappable and can only be retrieved using an Upgrade Extractor or salvaging them with Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets can provide your hero with various small, but beneficial benefits. You can find them in the start-up area as loot or as personal story rewards. They are also available through vendors and item upgrader mod after doing road interaction. They can also be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinket players will be able to unlock is the cloak. It gives a small but beneficial boost in speed of movement and the ability to escape. The player can then collect necklaces, rings, and amulets in a similar fashion as they did with weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with a slot for an upgrade which can be universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be utilized on any equipment. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced, and can only be used with certain trinkets.

These trinkets provide additional buffs and abilities that are active when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This allows a hero to become more efficient even when not in combat. It can also make up for the absence of good team or talent tree slots that are normally filled by the hero's best stats.

In general trinket upgrades should be prioritized over BiS (Best item upgrade in Slot) items that you will not replace in the near future. Next, any items with desirable statistics that aren't as significant as the iLevel for the item to be upgraded. This is especially true if you want to upgrade multiple stats on an item upgrader mod (Www.Northwestu.Edu). It is more beneficial to upgrade a single important stat rather than two suboptimal ones.

In the beginning of the game players in the jungle are likely to upgrade their trinket to a red in the middle and top players usually choose a green or pink ward (depending on the game's matchup). These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's ability to control his map.

In addition to the items listed above, players will also find other trinkets that form of rewards and trophies throughout the game. These can be earned by completing certain milestones in the story, for instance completing a chapter's main quest or killing a certain boss. They can be viewed by selecting the relevant achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
