What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader adds a new widget to the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. The Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors and offers no gameplay benefit aside from making it easier to view and buy upgrades.

Costs

The second is the cost of the materials needed to upgrade. The items used are typically either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21+) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable by completing certain Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). The amount of these items needed can be found in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. It can take 8 hours, depending on the magnitude of the upgrade. The base stats of an upgraded item are calculated based on the new ilvl and other characteristics. This calculation determines the latest Armor Class bonus, damage dice, and other important stats. In some instances, the upgrade will grant additional advantages that can be picked from a list of available perks.

Rarely, the new benefits obtained will cost more than one perk slot to acquire In these instances the upgrade will replace the perks with the highest cost. Occasionally, the upgrader will make other modifications to an item, like changing the type of weapon damage or removing or adding an unwieldy or operative property. The cost for these changes is based on the Best item upgrade's new ilvl, and it could require a special substance like adamantine alloy.

Success Rate

Upgrades to items are based on a chance, and like every random system, there's a chance that the upgrade won't be successful. There are several methods to increase your odds of success. This includes the use of an Upgrade Pity, or the addition of additional components to your upgrade.

An Upgrade Pity is a product you can buy from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the chance of a successful upgrade by a certain percentage. It is similar to the "luck bonus" that some items provide however it is more reliable. It can be added to any armor or weapon and can be used up to three times.
