The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that has smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also self-empties and automatically refills its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba J7+, IRobot's smartest robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its biggest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste that most other robots can't avoid (and often slough through). It's also the first to automatically send you a photo of an object it encounters so that you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.

It removes dirt and spills easily and leaves no trace of it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app, which allows you to schedule cleaning and create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't vacuum areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it with a voice.

The design is also better than the competition. It features a sleek, top piece that looks like an toy, not a loud and obnoxious robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt removal System is also self-emptying which will cut down your cleaning time.

In our tests the j7+ performed quick to pick up and remove dust, dirt and pet hair. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one location instead of scattering it around the floor robot. It even was able to catch small gravel and sand which other robots aren't able to do. It did all this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.

While it's not quite as efficient as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ self vacuum-Emptying Vacuum, and it's not able to clean stairs The J7+ is an excellent option for those who need both a vac and a mop in their home. It's not expensive and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates, and it is sometimes difficult to determine if they are functioning until you actually witness them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

The Q5+ is notably soft around obstacles like tables and walls, which makes it an excellent choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The Q5+'s navigation is excellent, with few misses along walls and in corners.

The Q5+, just like other Roborock products can be controlled via only a few buttons on your device, or via the Roborock App. Through the app, you can start and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and adjust your home map or change the labels of rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock that's designed specifically to make this machine easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once it's in place the process of emptying the bin is simple. It also comes with a large LCD display, which is nice to have when setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't required for everyone, but it can help effectively keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever, well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design and features are among the top available however it's expensive.

It's a tiny base station that looks beautiful and can be hidden when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is that it can automate many tasks, functions and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot fully charged and clean.

Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the only robot vacuum I've tried that does well at picking up debris from bare floors. And it's not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly in terms of navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robotvacs. This means it can get stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's also not able to climb stairs as well as other competitors and doesn't come with a dock to create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.

Although it doesn't provide the same amount of cleaning-related options in its app, or as many in-app shortcuts as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone looking for an all-around great mop and robot vacuum that's worth the premium price tag.

If you're looking for a way to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are other options on the market. Many of the eufy models cost significantly less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for instance, is cheaper and has more features, including stairs and a fully-function Dock, that provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on plain floors, low-pile carpets and even high-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

eufy is an Anker company with a history of producing robot vacuums that offer the perfect combination of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning of hard and carpeted flooring, and mopping functions at an affordable price. It's easy to setup, just snap one of the side brushes on, turn it on, most expensive robot vacuum and plug it into the charging dock. The app walks you through a few steps to connect to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. It is recommended to keep the dock near a power outlet and plenty of room to allow it to move, however.

The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be precise and will fit under many sofas and other furniture with low clearance. Its design is less ostentatious than some rival models, with a sleek black finish and three physical buttons that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in a spiral pattern for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to conduct cleaning without a schedule using voice commands.

The main characteristic that sets the G30 apart from most competitors is the method it cleans. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of immovable objects in its path while retaining what it's cleaned and what it isn't able to access. If it requires a recharge, it will automatically return to its base, and then resumes cleaning robots for home where it began.

The elegant G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower cost of operation. It is faster to charge, Most expensive robot vacuum has a similar battery life, and performs better on unfinished floors or low-pile carpet. It comes with a larger dust bin that does not require more emptying. It also has boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't need to be emptied as often, and it has less difficulty with bulky items like cereal.
