We had the chance to test the EV9 for a few hours on a local freeway and found it easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The ride is smooth over ruts and bumps, while the EV9 does an excellent job of reducing the sound of traffic and wind on the highway. The acceleration of the vehicle is astonishingly fast, and it comes with adjustable regenerative brakes that permit "one-pedal driving" simply by releasing the accelerator.

The EV9 is extremely reliable and can be fully charged within three hours at home or with any commercial charger. Drivers can select between two operating modes including eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode prioritizes the green power and cruise control, as well as handling while sport mode maximizes speed. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA conforming. They will be eligible for federal transit grants.
