World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to boost an item's gear score up to 700, and then add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory and heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For instance an excellently rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't change much after an upgrade, and aren't worth the cost.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats, such as damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a unit. In certain instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage a weapon is able to upgrade by itself.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For example, an +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. While this is generally beneficial however, it could have negative consequences too. For items that only see use in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them can make them unusable unless you get a fortunate roll.

It is possible to upgrade armor items to boost their stats. For instance, if you have a helm or chest, this will increase its base defense while gloves and belts will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it could roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will hit for 3 times less often, since it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button within the item upgrade menu with the arrows that circle. This will roll the item and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon's level or connect to the status of your account.

Armor

A few armor upgrades can make the world of difference to your survivability. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poison, fire, and magic. This can make it easier to navigate difficult terrains. In general, the more defense you can offer your character, the greater health you can get from each point. To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and in order to unlock each fountain, you must complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. In general, you'll need at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a decent-sized group of enemies in most cold conditions and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, granting the protection needed to survive an entire raid with a handful of friends.

You can't upgrade your armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor for physical strength or the power of spells. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for the armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you wear for the final boss fight and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to unlock perks for your armor. Potions

To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI that allows you to choose the potion that you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP total.

Once a potion is upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to rename it.

There were a few changes to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. For example splash potions now have an average duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display of the item). The potion table is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be used in cauldrons. Also, putting a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the potion and replenishes the bottle.

Finally, there are simmering potions made using dragon breath and splash potions. Similarly, a lingering potions effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The table of potion ingredients is now organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as the potion of leaping, the decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket is a small and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to an ornament or object that serves a purpose, but is not important, like a thimble. In certain cultures, trinkets are used to symbolize affection or friendship, particularly between family members.

In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Trinkets like other items that can be upgraded can be swapped at will without losing stats.

In general players should make upgrades to their highest priority items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are first upgraded then their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment they won't replace in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players, then they should upgrade their chest, helm, and shoulders.

Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they're no longer needed, and the new trinket will receive an additional 1% upgrade bonus. A re-upgrade, however, will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it can be salvaged using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than purchasing a new one.
