WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

The more modernized gear generally has a higher trade value as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for those with higher variance due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrade that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade item is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which will show an item's preview when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an Item Level Upgrade has been upgraded to a certain amount it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
