When it comes to acquiring the necessary upgrade components you'll find them in various locations around Hyrule such as merchants, shrines and even enemies. These are usually marked with a blue triangle or a gold circle and are found in huge quantities as you progress through. While they may appear randomly, there is the possibility that obtaining certain upgrade components will lead to an adventure that rewards players with more.

It is important to remember that, although the level offered by each upgrade could differ but it will always be higher than zero. This is because a complete set of upgraded armor will grant you a high defense boost that protects you from all types of attacks, except magic which makes it a very effective weapon for any class.

Weapons

You can upgrade items your guns with special upgrades that make them truly unique. These can increase damage, alter the weapon's stats in order to adapt to your specific build and even unlock new attachments such as unique ammo types, enchantments and more aesthetic options.

You'll require both the upgrade component as well as the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon should be at a minimum of an appropriate level to upgrade it. Most weapons only be upgraded by one upgrade.

You can find weapons upgrade components scattered across the globe and from the hands of enemies and can be purchased from vendors. This is particularly beneficial for characters that have reached a level where they will likely face the same type of monster in dungeons over and over again.

A ring infused with magic could give immunity to non-magical attacks that bludgeon, pierce or slash (excluding silver-based attacks) until the character gets another long rest. This is especially beneficial for melee fighters, or any character who wishes to get rid of the hassle and expense of buying an armor.

Some enchanted objects have special powers that allow the character to cast spells that are not on their list of classes. Utility Items

Utility items are anything that doesn't fall under the categories of Clothing or Armor and have a variety of capabilities. Unlike Armor and item Upgrades Weapons, no one utility item will be in conflict with the other. Most utility items provide an effect that the player can activate by using them however, some come with additional capabilities that activate when the user presses an action button or activates a skill.

Generally speaking, the most popular kind of utility item is the Flashlight that illuminates the surrounding area. Other useful items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player float in mid-air while moving and the Jetpack that allows the player to accelerate in any directions while on the ground. In the Engineering section, you can instantly produce several utilitarian items, whereas others are only available through Research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.

In addition to the items available in the regular inventory, players can unlock additional useful items of utility by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Certain of these items can be upgraded to allow greater effectiveness.

Most utility items give players an advantage in navigation or boost a specific combat ability.
