WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for the latter because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item level upgrade upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. The item upgrader mod used to upgrade the item upgrader mod will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current level of the item as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item upgrade has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to obtain a new upgrade item recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.

The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced also, but is only available once certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that Crests are only available to gear of a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex can require as much as 20 crests based on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities, or by doing dungeons or raids in all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or item Level upgrade dungeons with a heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one usage therefore it's essential to use them wisely. For instance, it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you have available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount when all slots are full of high-quality gear.
